Saranya is a third year computer science PhD candidate at Carnegie Mellon working at the intersection of security, graph mining, and machine learning. She is working on projects related to using graphs and machine learning for malware detection, robust machine learning, and fraud detection. She is advised by Christos Faloutsos and Matt Fredrikson. She is supported by the Department of Defense National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship. Previously, she was an associate at Goldman Sachs, where she worked for three years. She did her undergraduate at Harvard, where she did her thesis work with Cynthia Dwork and Jim Waldo and did a joint concentration in computer science and government.
